DIRECTIONS FOR USE: RESTRAINTS: DO NOT use on live trees. SITUATION INSECTS RATE CRITICAL COMMENTS Felled logs, poles, posts. Auger beetles, Family Bostrichidae; Powder post beetles, Family Lyctinae; Pinhole borers, Family Curculionidae; Furniture Beetles, Family Anobiidae. 100 mL with 9.9 litres diesel, light oil or water. Use Knapsack or Power Sprayer at 700 mL/ m 3 , especially when newly fallen or freshly peeled logs. 100 mL with 9.9 litres non- staining oil or kerosene. Use only on wood which will absorb the solution. Retreat when reinfestation occurs. Apply at 1 L/20 m 2 of surface area. Sawn timber Apply at 1 L/20 m 2 of surface area by spray or brush. Borer fl ight holes may also be injected with product using a small syringe. Timber furniture GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS. FELLED LOGS, POLES, POSTS: Mix with either diesel, light oil, or water. Choice of carrier depends on anticipated exposure to water. Total exposure requires diesel. For timber under shelter, use light oil or water. This product may be applied as a surface spray on felled logs, posts and poles. DOMESTIC USE, FURNITURE, SAWN TIMBER: Mix with non-staining oil or kerosene. Timber may be sanded back before treatment. Apply product by spray or brush. Borer fl ight holes may also be injected with product using a small syringe. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT: Harmful to fi sh. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Store in the closed, original container in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Do not store in direct sunlight. Dispose of empty container by wrapping in paper, placing in plastic bag and putting in garbage. MAJOR HEALTH HAZARDS: Permethrin is harmful to non-harmful via the oral route, with a reported LD 50 for technical Permethrin in rats of 430 to 4000 mg/kg. Via the dermal route, it is not harmful, with a reported dermal LD 50 in rats of over 4000 mg/kg, and in rabbits of greater 2000 mg/kg. May be harmful if swallowed. POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS INHALATION SHORT TERM EXPOSURE: Significant inhalation exposure is considered to be unlikely. Available data indicates that this product is not harmful.
