WHAT RANMAST TABLETS IS USED
FOR
The
name
of
your
medicine
is
RANMAST TABLETS
.
RANMAST
TABLETS
are
used
to
treat breast cancer in women who have
achieved menopause, women who no
longer
have
periods
either
naturally
due to their age or after surgery or
chemotherapy.
This
may
be
the
first
time
you
are
taking
an
"antiestrogen"
such
as
RANMAST TABLETS
or you may
have taken another "antiestrogen" such
as tamoxifen in the past.
HOW RANMAST TABLETS WORK
RANMAST
TABLETS
contain
letrozole. Letrozole belongs to a class
of
medicines
known
as
aromatase
inhibitors.
They
are
also
called
"antiestrogens"
because
they
act
by
reducing the production of estrogen in
your body.
Estrogen
stimulates
the
growth
of
certain types of breast cancer. These
cancers
are
called
"oestrogen-
dependent." Reducing the production
of
oestrogen
may
help
to
keep
the
cancer from growing.

YOU
USE
RANMAST
TABLETS
_WHEN YOU MUST NOT USE IT _
DO NOT TAKE LETROZOLE TABLETS IF:
•
you are allergic (hypersensitive) to
letrozole
,
or
any
of
the
other
ingredients
of
letrozole
tablets.
(An allergic reaction may include
rash, itching, swelling of face, lips,
or
hands/feet,
or
breathing
difficulties).
•
you
have
not
yet
gone
through
menopause (you are still having
periods).
