INDICATIONS For the treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to lincomycin in swine. Lincomycin is indicated for the treatment of infectious forms of arthritis caused by organisms sensitive to its activity. This includes most of the organisms responsible for the various infectious arthritides in swine such as the Stapyhlococci, Streptococci, Erysipelothrix and Mycoplasma spp. Lincomycin is also indicated for the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumonia. Success in the treatment of viral diseases must be attributed to the control of secondary bacterial invaders rather than the effect of lincomycin on the virus. Resistance may develop to any chemical. Net Contents: 100 mL Directions for Use: Restraints: Contraindications: This product is contraindicated in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to Lincomycin. This product is contraindicated for use in animals with known pre-existing monilial infections. RLP APPROVED This product is contraindicated for use in rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and horses as these species are sensitive to the gastrointestinal effects. The administration of this product should be avoided in these species. Precautions: Side Effects: Intramuscularly and intravenously, Lincomycin has demonstrated excellent local tolerance with no reports of pain of inflammation following injection. The intramuscular administration to swine may cause a transient diarrhea or loose stools. Although this effect has rarely been reported, one must be alert to the possibility that it may occur.
