INDICATIONS
For the treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to
lincomycin in swine.
Lincomycin is indicated for the treatment of infectious forms of
arthritis caused by
organisms sensitive to its activity. This includes most of the
organisms responsible
for the various infectious arthritides in swine such as the
Stapyhlococci, Streptococci,
Erysipelothrix and Mycoplasma spp.
Lincomycin is also indicated for the treatment of Mycoplasma
pneumonia.
Success in the treatment of viral diseases must be attributed to the
control of secondary
bacterial invaders rather than the effect of lincomycin on the virus.
Resistance may develop to any chemical.
