1. WHAT DICYNONE 500 IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CLASS
Other systemic haemostatic
Etamsylate is a synthetic antihaemorrhagic and
angioprotective drug acting on the first stage of
haemostasis (endothelium - platelet interaction).
By improving platelet adhesiveness and restoring
capillary resistance, it reduces bleeding time and
blood
loss.
Etamsylate
does
not
have
vasoconstrictor
action,
it
does
not
influence
fibrinolysis
nor
does
it
change
the
plasma
coagulation factors.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
_In surgery:_ prevention and treatment in operative
or
post-operative
haemorrhages
in
all
delicate
operations and those affecting highly vascularised
tissues:
otorhinolaryn-gology,
gynaecology,
obstetrics,
urology,
odontostomatology,
ophthalmology, plastic surgery.
_In internal medicine:_ prevention and treatment of
capillary
haemorrhages
of
whatever
origin:
haematuria,
haematemesis,
melena,
metrorrhagia,
primary
or
IUD-related
menorrhagia, epistaxis, gingivorrhagia.
