PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection in adult and paediatric patients from the age of 3 years and at least 15 kg body weight. PREZISTA, co administered with cobicistat is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection in adults and adolescents (aged 12 years and older, weighing at least 40 kg). In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA co administered with cobicistat or low dose ritonavir, careful consideration should be given to the treatment history of the individual patient and the patterns of mutations associated with different agents. Genotypic or phenotypic testing (when available) and treatment history should guide the use of PREZISTA. PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection. PREZISTA 75 mg, 150 mg, and 600 mg tablets may be used to provide suitable dose regimens:For the treatment of HIV 1 infection in antiretroviral treatment (ART) experienced adult patients, including those that have been highly pre treated. For the treatment of HIV 1 infection in paediatric patients from the age of 3 years and at least 15 kg body weight. In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA co administered with low dose ritonavir, careful consideration should be given to the treatment history of the individual patient and the patterns of mutations associated with different agents. Genotypic or phenotypic testing (when available) and treatment history should guide the use of PREZISTA. PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection. ART experienced with no darunavir resistance associated mutations (DRV RAMs) and who have plasma HIV 1 RNA < 100,000 copies/ml and CD4+ cell count ≥ 100 cells x 106/L. In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA in such ART experienced patients, genotypic testing should guide the use of PREZISTA.

QUÉ ES PREZISTA Y PARA QUÉ SE UTILIZA
¿QUÉ ES PREZISTA?
PREZISTA contiene el principio activo darunavir. PREZISTA es un
medicamento antirretroviral
usado en el tratamiento de la infección por el Virus de la
Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH). Pertenece
a un grupo de medicamentos llamado inhibidores de la proteasa.
PREZISTA reduce la cantidad de
VIH presente en su cuerpo. Con ello, su sistema inmunitario mejorará
y disminuirá el riesgo de sufrir
enfermedades asociadas a la infección por el VIH.
¿PARA QUÉ SE UTILIZA?
PREZISTA se usa para tratar a los adultos infectados por el VIH así
como para tratar a los niños
infectados por el VIH a partir de los 3 años de edad y con al menos
15 kilogramos de peso (ver CÓMO
TOMAR PREZISTA).
PREZISTA debe tomarse junto con una dosis baja de cobicistat o
ritonavir y otros medicamentos
contra el VIH. Su médico le expondrá la combinación de medicamentos
más conveniente para usted.

COMPOSICIÓN CUALITATIVA Y CUANTITATIVA
Cada ml de suspensión oral contiene 100 mg de darunavir (como
etanolato).
Excipiente con efecto conocido: cada mililitro contiene 3,43
miligramos de metil parahidroxibenzoato
de sodio (E219).

DATOS CLÍNICOS
4.1
INDICACIONES TERAPÉUTICAS
PREZISTA, administrado con dosis bajas de ritonavir, está indicado
para el tratamiento de la infección
por el Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH-1) en combinación
con otros medicamentos
antirretrovirales en pacientes adultos y pediátricos a partir de los
3 años de edad y con al menos 15 kg
de peso corporal (ver sección 4.2).
PREZISTA, administrado de forma conjunta con cobicistat, está
indicado para el tratamiento de la
infección por el Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH-1) en
combinación con otros
medicamentos antirretrovirales en adultos y adolescentes (de 12 años
en adelante, que pesen al menos
40 kg) (ver sección 4.2).
Antes de iniciar el tratamiento con PREZISTA administrado de forma
conjunta con cobicistat o dosis
bajas de ritonavir, es preciso prestar una especial atención al
historial de tratamiento del paciente y las
mutaciones asociadas con agentes diferentes. El uso de PREZISTA debe
guiarse por el historial de
tratamiento y el análisis del genotipo o fenotipo (cuando esté
disponible) (ver secciones 4.2, 4.4 y 5.1).
4.2
POSOLOGÍA Y FORMA DE ADMINISTRACIÓN
El tratamiento debe ser iniciado por un profesional sanitario con
experiencia en el tratamiento de la
infección por el VIH. Una vez se inicie el tratamiento con PREZISTA,
se debe advertir a los pacientes
que no cambien la dosis, ni la forma de la dosis, ni interrumpan el
tratamiento sin consultar con su
médico.
