Each gram of PBAC FOSVET 250 mg/g Water Soluble Powder contains
Fosfomycin Calcium 250mg.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
PBAC FOSVET 250 mg/g Water Soluble Powder is a white or light milky
white powder.
PHARMACODYNAMICS PROPERTIES
Fosfomycin is a phosphoenol pyruvate analog that irreversibly inhibits
pyruvyl transferase, the enzyme that catalyzing the synthesis of
N-Acetylmuramic acid,
a component of the bacterial cell wall glycopeptide murein. Fosfomycin
is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced by certain Streptomyces
species.It is effective
against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative. It is active against
many Enterobacteriaceae, including E.coli and also is active against
Pasteurella,
Salmonella, and Staphylococcus.
PHARMACOKINETICS PROPERTIES
97% is absorbed through oral administration. 98% of the drug is
eliminated in active form within 24 hours through the kidney. Total
elimination is achieved in
72 hours, with no residues observed in blood, organs or tissue.
INDICATION
Treatment of bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive and
Gram-negative bacteria such as Colibacillosis, Salmonellosis,
Staphylococcosis,
Streptococcosis, Infectious Coryza, Fowl Cholera, Listeriosis,
Omphalitis etc.
TARGET SPECIES
Poultry
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
200g PBAC FOSVET 250 in 100 gallons of drinking water for 3 – 5
days.
160mg PBAC FOSVET 250 Soluble Powder per kg bodyweight daily for 3 –
5 consecutive days.
DIRECTION OF USE :
This product is administered via the drinking water. Medicated water
should be made up immediately prior to provision. Medication of the
water supply should
be continuous during the treatment period and no other source of water
should be available.
MODE OF ADMINISTRATION
To be administered via animal drinking water. Mixing Directions : To
assure thorough dissolution, place the PBAC FOSVET 250 Water Soluble
Powder in a
small mixing container and add 25 liters of water . Stir until all the
