WHAT BEACOLYTIC IS USED FOR
Beacolytic
is
used
to
reduce
phlegm
thickness,
thus
facilitate
its
removal
by
coughing.
HOW BEACOLYTIC WORKS
Beacolytic
contains
bromhexine
hydrochloride
as
an
active
ingredient.
Bromhexine
hydrochloride
helps
to
clear
the
chest
by
thinning the phlegm in your air
passages.
BEFORE YOU USE BEACOLYTIC

Do not take this medicine if
you have an allergy to:

Do not take this medicine after
the expiry date printed on the
pack or if the packaging is torn
or shows signs of tampering.
If it has expired or is damaged,
return it to your pharmacist for

                                PRODUCT INFORMATION
BEACOLYTIC TABLET/ELIXIR
BEACOLYTIC contains Bromhexine HCI. It is a
mucolytic
agent
facilitating
expectoration
by
reducing
sputum
viscosity
and
relieving
wet
cough.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TABLET: A 7 mm in diameter, round, flat, plain
yellow tablet.
ELIXIR: A plain, strawberry flavoured syrup.
PHARMACODYNAMICS
Bromhexine HCl can facilitate expectoration
by
reducing sputum viscosity in chronic asthma and
bronchitis.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Bromhexine HCl is absorbed from the G.I.T and
peak plasma concentrations occurs after 1 hour.
Most of the dose is excreted in the urine mainly as
metabolites.
INDICATION
Reduction in sputum viscosity, thus facilitate its
removal by coughing.
DOSAGE
Adults and children above 12 years: 1 to 2
tablets three times daily or 10ml three times daily
OR as directed by physician.

It‘s advisable to drink more warm water.
ADVERSE EFFECTS/UNDESIRABLE
EFFECTS:
Gastrointestinal
irritation,
transient
increased
serum transaminase.
Immune System Disorders
Frequency not known: Anaphylactic reactions
including anaphylactic shock.
Skin
and
Subcutaneous
Skin
Disorders
Frequency not known: Severe skin reactions
(including
Stevens
Johnson
syndrome,
Toxic
epidermal
necrolysis
(TEN),
Erythema
Multiforme
(EM)
and
Acute
Generalized
Exanthematous Pustulosis (AGEP).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
Gastric Ulceration. Very rare cases of chronically
associated
severe
skin
impairments
such
as
Stevens Johnson Syndrome, Toxic Epidermal
Necrolysis (TEN), Erytheme Multiforme (EM) and
Acute
Generalized
Exanthematous
Pustulosis
(AGEP) have been reported. In most cases,
these could be explained by the severity of the
underlying disease or concomitant administra-
tion of another drug. In the early stages of such
severe skin reactions, initially only nonspecific
flu-like symptoms appear, e.g. fever, arthralgia,
runny nose, cough, and sore throat. If skin or
