PATIENT LEAFLET IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PHARMACISTS’ REGULATIONS (PREPARATIONS)- 1986 This medicine is dispensed without a doctor's prescription PRILIDAN CREAM THE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS AND THEIR CONCENTRATION: 2.5% lidocaine 2.5% prilocaine Inactive ingredients and allergens in the medicine - see section 2 under ‘Important information about some of this medicine’s ingredients’, and section 6 ‘Additional information'. READ THE ENTIRE LEAFLET CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START USING THIS MEDICINE. This leaflet contains concise information about the medicine. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Use the medicine according to the instructions in the dosage section in this leaflet. Consult a pharmacist if you need additional information. 1. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE INTENDED FOR? Topical anesthetic used to relieve skin pain before procedures such as needle pricks and superficial skin operations. THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Local anesthetic of the amide group. Prilidan works by temporarily numbing the skin surface so that it helps relieve the pain. However, you may still feel touch and pressure in the area. 2. BEFORE USING THE MEDICINE DO NOT USE THE MEDICINE: If you are sensitive (allergic) to the active ingredients or to any of the other ingredients the medicine contains or to another similar local anesthetic (see section 6). SPECIAL WARNINGS REGARDING THE USE OF THE MEDICINE: BEFORE TREATMENT WITH PRILIDAN CREAM, TELL THE DOCTOR IF: • You or your child have a rare inherited illness that affects the blood, called "glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD enzyme) deficiency" (sensitivity to fava beans). • You or your child have a problem with blood pigment levels called "methemoglobinemia". • Do not use Prilidan cream on areas with skin rash, cuts, grazes, scratches or other open wounds, with the exception of a leg ulcer.
