COMPOSITION:
Each MEMOX 10 tablet contains:
Memantine hydrochloride 10 mg
Each MEMOX 20 tablet contains:
Memantine hydrochloride 20 mg

information”.

This medicine has been prescribed for the
treatment of your ailment. Do not pass it on
to others. It may harm them even if it seems
to you that their ailment is similar.
1. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE INTENDED
FOR?
MEMOX is intended for the treatment of
moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease.
MEMOX belongs to a group of medicines
for the treatment of dementia. The memory
loss characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease
is caused by disruption of the transmission
of nerve signals in the brain. There are
receptors in the brain called NMDA
receptors. These receptors are involved
in transmission of nerve signals which
are important for learning and memory.
MEMOX acts on NMDA receptors, thereby
improving transmission of nerve signals
and memory.
THERAPEUTIC GROUP: NMDA receptor
antagonist.
