WHAT /…/ IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
/…/ belongs to a group of medicines called
_anti-epileptics_
. It is used to treat two conditions -
EPILEPSY
and
BIPOLAR DISORDER
.
/…/ TREATS EPILEPSY
by blocking the signals in the brain that trigger epileptic seizures
(fits)

For adults and children aged 13 years and over, /…/ can be used on
its own or with other
medicines, to treat epilepsy. /…/ can also be used with other
medicines to treat the seizures that
occur with a condition called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

For children aged between 2 and 12 years, /…/can be used with other
medicines, to treat those
conditions. It can be used on its own to treat a type of epilepsy
called typical absence seizures.
/…/ ALSO TREATS BIPOLAR DISORDER.
People with bipolar disorder (sometimes called
_manic depression_
) have extreme mood swings, with
periods of mania (excitement or euphoria) alternating with periods of
depression (deep sadness or

Varje Lamotrigin Actavis 25 mg tablett innehåller 25 mg lamotrigin.
Hjälpämne: varje tablett innehåller 0,68 mg laktos.
Varje Lamotrigin Actavis 50 mg tablett innehåller 50 mg lamotrigin.
Hjälpämne: varje tablett innehåller 1,36 mg laktos.
Varje Lamotrigin Actavis 100 mg tablett innehåller 100 mg lamotrigin.
Hjälpämne: varje tablett innehåller 2,72 mg laktos.
Varje Lamotrigin Actavis 200 mg tablett innehåller 200 mg lamotrigin.
Hjälpämne: varje tablett innehåller 5,44 mg laktos.

Tablett
25 mg tabletter:
Ljusgula, runda, platta, märkta ”25” och har en diameter på 6
mm.
50 mg tabletter:
Ljusgula, runda, platta, märkta ”50” och har en diameter på 8
mm.
100 mg tabletter
Ljusgula, runda, platta, märkta ”100” och har en diameter på 10
mm.
200 mg tabletter:
Ljusgula, runda, platta, märkta ”200” och har en diameter på
12,5 mm.

KLINISKA UPPGIFTER

TERAPEUTISKA INDIKATIONER
Epilepsi
_Vuxna och ungdomar från 13 år och äldre_

Tilläggsbehandling eller monoterapi av partiella anfall och
generaliserade anfall, inklusive
tonisk-kloniska anfall.

Anfall i samband med Lennox-Gastaut syndrom. Lamotrigin Actavis ges
som
tilläggsbehandling men kan ges som initialt antiepileptikum vid start
av behandling av
Lennox-Gastaut syndrom.
_Barn och ungdomar från 2 till 12 år_

Tilläggsbehandling av partiella anfall och generaliserade anfall,
inklusive tonisk-kloniska
anfall och anfall i samband med Lennox-Gastaut syndrom.

Monoterapi av typiska absenser.
Bipolär sjukdom
_Vuxna från 18 år och äldre_

Prevention av depressiva episoder hos patienter med bipolär sjukdom,
typ I, vilka upplever
övervägande depressiva episoder (se avsnitt 5.1).
