1. WHAT KASPOFUNGIN LORIEN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Kaspofungin Lorien contains a medicine called caspofungin. This
belongs to a group of medicines
called antifungals.
WHAT KASPOFUNGIN LORIEN IS USED FOR
Kaspofungin Lorien is used to treat the following infections in
children, adolescents and adults:
•
serious fungal infections in your tissues or organs (called
‘invasive candidiasis’). This infection is
caused by fungal (yeast) cells called Candida.
People who might get this type of infection include those who have
just had an operation or those
whose immune systems are weak. Fever and chills that do not respond to
an antibiotic are the most
common signs of this type of infection.
•
fungal infections in your nose, nasal sinuses or lungs (called
‘invasive aspergillosis’) if other anti-
fungal treatments have not worked or have caused side effects. This
infection is caused by a mould
called Aspergillus.
People who might get this type of infection include those having
chemotherapy, those who have
had a transplant and those whose immu

KVALITATIV OCH KVANTITATIV SAMMANSÄTTNING
Varje injektionsflaska innehåller 50 mg kaspofungin (som acetat).
Varje injektionsflaska innehåller 70 mg kaspofungin (som acetat).
Efter upplösning innehåller en milliliter av koncentratet 5,2 mg
kaspofungin.
Efter upplösning innehåller en milliliter av koncentratet 7,2 mg
kaspofungin.

LÄKEMEDELSFORM
Pulver till koncentrat till infusionsvätska, lösning. Pulvret
är ett vitt till benvitt kompakt pulver.
4.
KLINISKA UPPGIFTER
4.1
TERAPEUTISKA INDIKATIONER
•
Behandling av invasiv candidiasis hos vuxna och barn.
•
Behandling av invasiv aspergillos hos vuxna och barn som är
behandlingsresistenta eller
intoleranta mot amfotericin B, lipidformuleringar av amfotericin B
och/eller itrakonazol.
Behandlingsresistens definieras som progress av infektion eller ingen
förbättring efter minst 7
dagars tidigare behandling med terapeutiska doser av effektiv
antimykotisk terapi.
•
Empirisk behandling av troliga svampinfektioner (såsom Candida eller
Aspergillus) hos
neutropena vuxna och barn med feber.
4.2
DOSERING OCH ADMINISTRERINGSSÄTT
Kaspofungin bör initieras av en läkare med erfarenhet av behandling
av invasiva svampinfektioner.
Dosering
_Vuxna _
En 70 mg engångsbolusdos bör administreras dag 1, därefter följt
av 50 mg dagligen. För patienter
som väger mer än 80 kg rekommenderas, efter den initiala 70 mg
bolusdosen, kaspofungin 70 mg
dagligen (se avsnitt 5.2). Ingen dosjustering är nödvändig med
avseende på kön eller etnisk härkomst
(se avsnitt 5.2).
_Pediatriska patienter (12 månader till 17 år) _
Hos barn (i åldern 12 månader till 17 år) ska dosering baseras på
patientens kroppsyta (se Instruktion
för beredning av infusionslösning till barn, Mostellers
