Selenium deficiency
in
sheep may give rise to:
1.
White muscle disease or nutritional muscular dystrophy
in
lambs.
2.
"Ill thrift"
in
young sheep.
3.
Reduced growth rate
in
lambs.
4.
Weak teeth or periodontal disease in adult sheep.
5.
Decreased wool growth.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
This
product
should
not
be used
in
sheep
less
than
eight
weeks
of
age.
This product should not
be
used when selenium intake from pasture
is
high or selenium
is
provided
by
other means (such as pasture top dressing, vaccine, pellets or
selenium drenches) and if blood
selenium levels at treatment exceed 2000nmol/l. Users can determine
selenium status
by
consulting
their veterinarian.
Use
of
this product may
be
hazardous to sheep with liver damage that are grazing
on
pasture rich in
pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Important:
Do
not
use
excessive
force
when
dosing
in
order
to
avoid
trauma
and damage
to
the
throat
of
the
animal.
Dose all sheep over 8 weeks of age with 1 (one) Selenium Pellet.
One
pellet
is
effective
in
maintaining
blood
selenium
levels in sheep
for
5 years.
Repeat dose following veterinary
advice.

Where Medical attention is not immediately available or where the
patient is more than 15 minutes from a hospital or unless instructed
otherwise:
If conscious, give water to drink. INDUCE vomiting with fingers down
the back of the throat, ONLY IF CONSCIOUS. Lean patient forward
or place on left side (head-down position, if possible) to maintain
open airway and prevent aspiration.
