Che cos'è Mucofor e quando si usa?

Il principio attivo contenuto nel Mucofor è l'erdosteina.

Su prescrizione medica, viene usato per il trattamento delle malattie respiratorie che provocano la

formazione di secrezioni viscose, che non possono o solo insufficientemente essere espettorate, come

la bronchite acuta e gli accessi acuti della bronchite cronica.

Mucofor fluidifica le mucosità, facilitando la loro eliminazione e perciò la respirazione; questo

contribuisce a calmare la tosse.

Mucofor deve essere preso solo su prescrizione medica.

Di che cosa occorre inoltre tener conto durante il trattamento?

Si può sostenere l'azione di Mucofor con un apporto sufficiente di liquido o, se fuma, rinunciando di

fumare

Quando non si può usare Mucofor?

Non si deve somministrare Mucofor a bambini e adolescenti.

Se soffre d’ipersensibilità (allergia) all’erdosteina, d’ulcera dello stomaco o di malattie gravi del

fegato o dei reni, non deve prendere Mucofor. Il suo medico sa cosa fare in tali casi.

Quando è richiesta prudenza nell'uso di Mucofor?

Su pazienti che soffrono di disturbi del fegato, Mucofor deve essere amministrato con prudenza. Si

può invece prendere Mucofor senza problema con antibiotici (p.es. Clamoxyl, Erythrocin) o con

preparati a base di teofillina (p.es. Unifyl, Euphyllin), se il suo medico Le ha prescritto tali prodotti.

In caso di apparizione di reazioni d'ipersensibilità (vedere «Quali effetti collaterali può avere

Mucofor?»), deve immediatamente interrompere il trattamento con Mucofor e informarne il suo

medico.

Quando prende Mucofor non dovrebbe prendere allo stesso tempo dei medicamenti contro la tosse

che contengono principi attivi come la codeina, il destrometorfano o la noscapina. Un tale prodotto

contro la tosse, impedendo l'espettorazione, può provocare un'accumulazione di secrezioni liquefatte

da Mucofor nei bronchi, cosa che aumenta il rischio di un'infezione e di uno spasmo delle vie

respiratorie.

Informi il suo medico o il suo farmacista se soffre di altre malattie, di allergie o assume o applica

(medicamento per uso esterno) altri medicamenti (anche se acquistati di sua iniziativa!).

Si può usare Mucofor durante la gravidanza o l'allattamento?

In base alle esperienze fatte finora, non sono noti rischi per il bambino se il medicamento è usato

correttamente. Tuttavia non sono ancora state compiute indagini scientifiche sistematiche. Per

prudenza dovrebbe rinunciare nelle misura del possibile ad assumere medicamenti durante la

gravidanza e il periodo d’allattamento o chiedere consiglio al proprio medico.

Come usare Mucofor?

Si può prendere Mucofor indipendentemente dai pasti.

Salvo altra prescrizione del medico, prendere:

Adulti: 1 capsula da 300 mg, 2 volte al giorno.

Inghiottire le capsule senza masticarle, con un poco di liquido.

Il medico determinerà la durata del trattamento, generalmente 7 a 10 giorni. Se i disturbi persistono

oltre 10 giorni, deve consultare di nuovo il suo medico.

Non modifichi di propria iniziativa la posologia prescritta. Se ritiene che l’azione del medicamento

sia troppo debole o troppo forte ne parli al suo medico o al suo farmacista.

Quali effetti collaterali può avere Mucofor?

Con l’assunzione di Mucofor possono manifestarsi i seguenti effetti collaterali:

Occasionalmente leggeri dolori o bruciori gastrici, nausee o diarrea.

In rari casi, reazioni d'ipersensibilità (allergie), con eruzioni cutanee, traspirazione, palpitazioni

cardiache e/o delle difficoltà respiratorie possono manifestarsi.

In casi isolati possono apparire disturbi del gusto reversibile in qualche settimane.

Se osserva effetti collaterali qui non descritti, anche se la relazione con la presa del Mucofor non è

certa, dovrebbe informare il suo medico o il suo farmacista.

Di che altro occorre tener conto?

Conservare il Mucofor a temperatura ambiente (15-25 °C), in un luogo secco, al riparo dalla luce e

fuori dalla portata dei bambini. Il medicamento non dev’essere utilizzato oltre la data indicata con

«EXP» sulla confezione.

Il medico o il farmacista, che sono in possesso di un'informazione professionale dettagliata, possono

darle ulteriori informazioni.

Cosa contiene Mucofor?

1 capsula contiene come principio attivo 300 mg d'erdosteina, pure eccipienti incluso il colorante

indigotina (E132).

MEDA has decided to withdraw four more batches of EpiPen®. The withdrawal concerns two batches of EpiPen® 300 micrograms/dose and two batches of EpiPen® Jr 150 micrograms/dose. The latter is used for acute hypersensitivity reactions in children. The reason for the withdrawal is that there is a risk that the auto-injector does not work.
