Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is highly
infectious
and
usually fatal pathogen that causes
acute clinical symptoms resulting
in
death only
European rabbits
Oryctolagus cuniculus.
All breeds
of rabbits
in
Australia are derived from the
Oryctolagus cuniculus
and are therefore potentially
susceptible
to
infection with RHDV.
A vaccine
to
protect pet and farmed rabbits from RHDV
