Advertencias especiales y precauciones de uso:

No ingerir bebidas alcohólicas durante el tratamiento.

Efectos indeseables:

Ocasionales: ardor, prurito o irritación vaginal, dolor, calambre abdominal y cefalea. Raras:

erupciones.

Posología y método de administración:

Adultos (pacientes no gestantes): 100 mg 2 veces al día, durante 3 días consecutivos.

Pacientes gestantes: 100 mg una vez al día, durante 7 días consecutivos.

Instrucciones para su uso:

Las tabletas vaginales deben introducirse lo más profundamente posible en la vagina, de

preferencia

estando

paciente

decúbito

dorsal

piernas

ligeramente

flexionadas. Se recomienda efectuar su aplicación de preferencia por la noche al acostarse.

Para garantizar la eficacia se recomienda: Efectuar el tratamiento durante los días sin

menstruación. Efectuar el tratamiento sin relación sexual activa. Efectuar un tratamiento

preventivo al cónyuge durante dos semanas.

El clotrimazol es un antifúngico de amplio espectro del grupo de los imidazoles.

Mecanismo de acción: El compuesto afecta las características de permeabilidad de la

membrana

micótica

levaduras,

permitiendo

componentes

intracelulares esenciales con la consecuente inhibición de la síntesis de macromoléculas

como proteínas, lípidos, DNA y polisacáridos. También inhibe la incorporación de acetato

de ergosterol, alterando la integridad y función de la membrana micótica.

Absorción vaginal: Entre 3 y 10 % de la dosis administrada. La concentración del principio

activo no modificado en el plasma después de la administración vaginal de la tableta de 100

mg a 500 mg, siempre se encontró por debajo del límite de comprobación de 10 mg/mL.

Debido a la escasa absorción del clotrimazol tableta vaginal, no debe considerarse un efecto

sistémico.

"In vitro" además muestra propiedades antibacterianas contra cocos grampositivos y corine-

bacterias con valores de concentración mínima inhibitoria entre 0,5-10 mg/L y a 100 mg/L

tiene efecto tricomonicida.

The EU Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) recently completed a review of the risk of blood clots (VTE) with contraceptive pills and other combined hormonal contraceptives. Combined hormonal contraceptives contain two types of hormone, oestrogen and progesterone, and are available as pills, transdermal patches and vaginal rings.
