WHAT TRIDEPOS IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Tridepos is a combination pack of two types of tablets: alendronic
acid tablet (called alendronate tablet in
this leaflet) and calcium/cholecalciferol (vitamin D
3
) tablets (called calcium/vitamin D in this leaflet).
Alendronate tablet
Alendronate belongs to a group of non-hormonal medicines called
bisphosphonates. Alendronate prevents
the breakdown of bone tissue, that occurs in women in relation to
menopause.
Calcium/vitamin D tablets
Calcium and vitamin D
3
are both important components in the formation of bone. Vitamin D
3
regulates the
uptake and metabolism of calcium as well as the incorporation of
calcium in bone tissue.
Tridepos is used to treat osteoporosis in women who have passed the
menopause and are at risk of having
low levels of calcium and vitamin D. Osteoporosis is a condition that
affects the bones, causing them to
become weak, fragile and more likely to break.
The combination of alendronate and calcium/vitamin D lower the risk of
spine and hip fractures by
increasing bone strength and restoring calcium and vitamin D levels.

Tridepos är en kombinationsförpackning av två tabletter: alendronat
70 mg tabletter och
kalcium/kolekalciferol 500 mg/800 IE tabletter.
Alendronattabletter: en tablett innehåller natriumalendronattrihydrat
motsvarande 70 mg alendronsyra.
Kalcium/kolekalciferol-tabletter: en tablett innehåller
kalciumkarbonat motsvarande 500 mg kalcium och
kolekalciferol (vitamin D
3
) 800 IE (20 mikrogram).
Hjälpämnen med känd effekt
Alendronattablett: en tablett innehåller 122 mg laktos (som
monohydrat).
Kalcium/kolekalciferol-tabletter: en tablett innehåller 1,75 mg
sackaros.

KLINISKA UPPGIFTER
4.1
TERAPEUTISKA INDIKATIONER
Tridepos är indicerat för behandling av postmenopausal osteoporos
hos patienter med risk för kalcium- och
vitamin D-brist, för att minska risken för kot- och höftfrakturer.
4.2
DOSERING OCH ADMINISTRERINGSSÄTT
Ett blister innhåller 1 alendronattablett à 70 mg och 6
kalcium/kolekalciferol-tabletter à 500 mg/800 IE för en
veckas behandling.
Dosering
En tablett alendronat 70 mg och 6 tabletter kalcium/kolekalciferol 500
mg/800 IE per vecka. Tabletterna ska
tas en per dag under veckan.

Behandlingen ska inledas med en tablett alendronat 70 mg på dag 1 av
behandlingen (= väljs av patienten vid
behandlingsstarten), vilket följs av en tablett
kalcium/kolekalciferol 500 mg/800 mg IE per dag på de följande
6 dagarna (dag 2 till dag 7).
Dagen efter att den sjätte tabletten kalcium/kolekalciferol har
tagits (= dag 8) upprepas 7 dagarsbehandlingen,
som inleds med en tablett alendronat 70 mg.
Om patienten missar en dos av alendronat tablett ska patienten
instrueras att ta alen
