Sustain+SE Sustained Action Oral Anthelmintic and Flukicide for Sheep with Selenium

contains closantel, a member of the Salicylanilide family of drenches. It is effective against

sensitive strains of the following internal parasites:

Barber’s Pole Worm

Haemonchus contortus (mature and immature forms). Provides

protection against reinfestation for four weeks after dosing.

Liver Fluke

Fasciola hepatica (mature and immature forms, including six week

old stages).

Nasal Bot

Oestrus ovis

To control white muscle disease in lambs, treat pregnant ewes 2 to 6 weeks before lambing,

and lambs either orally or with an appropriate vaccine containing selenium at marking.

On properties where selenium response ill-thrift or selenium responsive scouring have

been diagnosed, dose lambs at marking and again 6 to 10 weeks later. If used at the

recommended dose rate, this product will deliver a minimum of 1 mg selenium per 10 kg

liveweight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

RESTRAINTS

DO NOT USE on female sheep which are producing, or may in the future produce, milk

or milk products for human consumption.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not add selenium to this drench. This product should not be used when selenium

intake from pasture is high or selenium is provided by other means (such as top

dressing, vaccine, pellets or selenium drenches) if blood selenium levels at treatment

are high. Users can determine selenium status by consulting their veterinarian.

Resistance may develop to any drench. Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal

health adviser for recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce

development to resistance. It is advisable that a drench resistance test be conducted before

any drench is used.

Administer orally, and check accuracy of drenching equipment before and during use.

Clean drenching equipment before and after use. SUSTAIN+Se Sustained Action Oral

Anthelmintic and Flukicide for Sheep with Selenium is ready for use and requires no

mixing. It can be used at the recommended dose in sheep of all ages including pregnant

ewes.

Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal by liveweight in the group (ewes, rams,

lambs). Do not underdose. A representative sample of animals should be weighed before

treatment.

Where there is a large variation in size within the group, dose rate should be based on the

label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate,

to avoid excessive overdosing.

PRECAUTION:

Do not mix copper salts with Sustain+Se Sustained Action Oral Anthelmintic and

Flukicide for Sheep with Selenium.
