DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

This product is contraindicated in animals that are

hypersensitive to Cephalosporins and other Penicillins.

Side Effects: Some dogs may exhibit nausea,

vomiting and diarrhoea.

Dosage and Administration:

Cats and Dogs: Administer Cephalexin at a dose rate of

15mg/kg bodyweight twice daily (i.e. 1 tablet per

5 kg bodyweight morning and night) or

30 mg/kg bodyweight once a day (2 tablets per

5 kg bodyweight at 24 hour intervals).

Long term treatment may be necessary for skin and

urinary tract infections.

Treatment should be carried out for at least 3 days or

at the discretion of a veterinarian.

Cephalexin is active against certain strains of

Penicillinase producing Staphylococcus aureus and also

effective for use in urinary infections by susceptible

bacterial species.

associatedcolitis, nausea and vomiting, abdominal discomfort,headache; allergicreactions including rashes, pruritus,

urticaria, serum sickness-like reactionswith rashes, fever and arthralgia, and anaphylaxis; erythema multiforme, toxic

epidermal necrolysisreported; disturbancesin liver enzymes, transient hepatitisand cholestatic jaundice; other side-

effects reported include eosinophilia andblood disorders(includingthrombocytopenia, leucopenia, agranulocytosis,

aplastic anaemia and haemolytic anaemia); reversible interstitial nephritis, hyperactivity, nervousness, sleep

disturbances,confusion, hypertonia, anddizziness.However,at the levelsassociatedwith casual exposure, these are

unlikely in normal use.
