This material is a Scheduled Poison S5 and must be stored, maintained and used in accordance with the

relevant regulations.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Phone Australia 131 126; New Zealand

03 474 7000).

Inhalation: Remove victim from exposure. Remove contaminated clothing and loosen remaining clothing.

Allow patient to assume most comfortable position and keep warm. Keep at rest until fully recovered.

Skin contact: If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with

running water. If irritation occurs seek medical advice.

Eye contact: If in eyes wash out immediately with water. In all cases of eye contamination it is a sensible

precaution to seek medical advice.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Give plenty of water to drink. If vomiting occurs give further water.

Seek medical advice.

Notes to physician: Treat symptomatically.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Specific hazards: Non-combustible material.

Fire fighting further advice: Not combustible, however following evaporation of aqueous component

residual material can burn if ignited. On burning will emit toxic fumes. Fire fighters to wear self-contained

breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing if risk of exposure to vapour or products of combustion.

Suitable extinguishing media: water fog (or if unavailable fine water spray), foam, dry agent (carbon

dioxide, dry chemical powder).

waterways. Use absorbent (soil, sand or other inert material). Collect and seal in properly labelled

place away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed and fertiliser. Keep containers closed when not in

use - check regularly for leaks.

The active ingredient has been in use for many years and there are no reports of health effects in workers

due to long term exposure to this ingredient. Animal studies of the active ingredient have indicated no

cancer, mutagenic, teratogenic or neurotoxic effects.

Data from studies with a formulation comprised of 62% isopropylamine salt of glyphosate indicate the

following:

In repeat dosing studies (6 month), dogs fed glyphosate exhibited slight body weight changes.

Repeated skin exposures (3 week), skin irritation was the primary effect in rabbits.

Repeated exposures (90 days) to glyphosate in their feed, decreased weight gains were noted at the

highest test level in mice, while no treatment-related effects occurred in rats.

Repeated skin exposure (3 weeks) to glyphosate, slight skin irritation was the primary effect observed in

rabbits, No skin allergy was observed in guinea pigs following repeated skin exposure.

If wastes cannot be used according to label instructions or chemically reprocessed, dispose of in a landfill

approved for pesticides disposal or bury under 500mm of soil in a non-crop, non-pasture area away from

water resources or homes. Dispose of in accordance with all pesticide local and state laws.

CONTAINERS:

Emptied containers retain residue. Triple rinse container, replace cap, then offer for recycling or

reconditioning. Otherwise, dispose of in an approved landfill or bury under at least 500mm of soil in a non-

crop, non-pasture area away from water sources or homes.
