DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

DO NOT USE IN BIRDS THAT ARE PRODUCING OR MAY IN FUTURE PRODUCE EGGS OR EGG

PRODUCTS FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.

Mix thoroughly into feed. During treatment use only oxytetracycline-medicated feed. Medicated feed should be kept dry

and used within three months of mixing.

Poultry:

225 -450 g/tonne of finished feed. Use until 24 hours after symptoms disappear.

Pigs:

Leptospirosis, for control and treatment of an outbreak: 550 –1100 g/tonne of

finished feed for 7-14 days. Prevention should be based on vaccination.

Other diseases: 225 –450 g/tonne of finished feed for 7-14 days.

Cattle:

1.1g /head /day for the first 7 days on entry to the feedlot, and repeat for 1-3 days during

periods of stress.

Calves:

0.55 g per 50 kg bodyweight /head /day. Continue treatment for 24 hours

after symptoms have subsided.

Any variation by the prescribing veterinarian to the approved dose, frequency, duration, route, disease or target

species may require extending the approved withholding period.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:

MEAT – DO NOT USE less than 7 days before slaughter for human consumption.

MILK – Milk taken from animals within 72 hours following treatment MUST NOT BE USED for

Shake and empty contents into feed. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. Puncture or shred and

bury empty bags in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the bags below 500 mm in a disposal pit

specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, vegetation and roots. Empty bags and product should

not be burnt.

ACUTE EFFECTS:

Eye

:

High concentrations of product may irritate the eyes.

Skin

:

Contact with the skin may result in irritation. Repeated or prolonged skin contact

may cause allergic reaction and dermatitis.

Inhaled

:

Inhalation of vapor may irritate the mucous membrane and respiratory tract. Possible

allergic reaction.

Swallowed

:

May cause gastric irritation, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea and abdominal pain. LD

oral (in mouse) is reported to be 6700 mg/kg.

FIRST AID:

Eye

:

Immediately irrigate the eyes continuously with water for at least 15minutes.

Retract eyelids. Seek medical attention.

Skin

:

Wash affected areas with copious amounts of soap and water.

Inhaled

:

Remove victim to fresh air. Seek medical advice if effects persist.

Swallowed

:

In the event of accidental ingestion, rinse mouth with water. Give water to drink.

DO NOT induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical advice.

Use with adequate ventilation and away from all ignition sources.

Personal Protection :

When handling any antibiotic, operators must wear appropriate safety equipment

commensurate with the working environment. It is recommended that protective

clothing, masks and gloves should be used during the handling of the product to avoid

skin contact. Always wash skin and hands thoroughly after handling any chemical and

before eating, drinking or smoking.

Flammability

High concentrations of product particles may ignite if exposed to ignition sources. Do

not smoke while using the product. Use in a well ventilated space.
