READ SAFETY DIRECTIONS BEFORE OPENING OR USING

Multicrop Scat@ Bird and Animal Repellent.

GENERAL

INFORMATION

Multicrop Scat@ Bird and Animal Repellent is an aid to training animals away from unwanted behaviour.

Multicrop Scat@ Bird and Animal Repellent is a water soluble powder that, when applied, keeps unwanted birds and

animals away from the treated area.

It acts via the moist tissues associated with taste, smell and eyes and can be used

to selectively screen animals away from particular areas of the garden or yard.

During periods of active plant growth,

repeat applications may be necessary more frequently.

Multicrop Scat@ Bird and Animal Repellent is not harmful to

birds, animals or humans when used as directed.

Multicrop Scat@ Bird and Animal Repellent is effective against a wide range of animals including birds, dogs, cats,

rabbits, rats, mice, etc.

It can be applied to grass, garden beds including flowers, fruit and vegetables, concrete,

pavers, paths, drives, timber, plastic, bare soil, trees, rubbish bins, bricks, etc.

The whole area can be treated or barriers can be set up, preferably along the animal’s line of approach, rather than

across it. However, treat the maximum area possible as this provides better protection.

With resistant animals, stronger solutions can be applied initially and treatments may need to be done more

frequently,

Well established animal behaviour and habits can take some time to be broken and, over time, may require

periodic treatment to reinforce the correct conduct.

Clean all equipment immediately following application to prevent blockages.

HOW TO PREPARE

Dissolve 50 g of powder m 1 L of hot water, stir well and allow to cool. Apply cooled solution with any spray system

or watering can, preferably with a fine rose, to point of run off.

One litre of solution will treat up to 30

Once the

unwanted behaviour has been controlled, 1 L will treat up to 60

The size of the area treated can vary depending

on the efficiency of application, the type of equipment used and type of surface to be treated.

On a trial basis, apply

water only to test for efficiency of application and to ensure the application will cover the correct area effectively.

HOW TO USE

Where possible, apply first application before a problem occurs or as soon as possible after the first damage is seen.

Following successful treatment, repeat applications

canbe

made using a half strength solution.

Use blanket or strip

treatment as required. Treat as much area as possible and additional applications increase the repellent effect. Not all

animals respond immediately and persistence is necessary to ensure that re-training is successful.

Once behaviour has

been controlled repeat applications can be done periodically.

Fire fighters should wear Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) operated

in positive pressure mode and full protective clothing to prevent exposure to

vapours or fumes. Water spray may be used to cool down heat-exposed

containers. Fight fire from safe location. This product should be prevented

from entering drains and watercourses.

Precautions in

connection with Fire

6. Accidental release measures

Remove all sources of ignition. Increase ventilation. Evacuate all unprotected

personnel. Do not breathe dust. Wear respiratory protection and full

protective clothing to minimise exposure. Sweep up material avoiding dust

generation - dampen spilled material with water if suitable to avoid airborne

dust, OR where possible use dustless methods such as vacuum to collect the

material; then transfer material in to suitable vapour tight labelled

containers for subsequent recycling or disposal. Dispose of waste according to

applicable local and national regulations. If contamination of sewers or

waterways occurs inform the local water and waste management authorities in

accordance with local regulations.

Emergency

Procedures

7. Handling and storage

Use only in a well ventilated area. Keep containers sealed when not in use.

Prevent the build up of dust in the work atmosphere. Avoid inhalation of dust,

and skin or eye contact. Establish good housekeeping practices. Remove dust

accumulations on a regular basis by vacuuming or gentle sweeping to avoid

creating dust clouds. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene i.e. Washing

hands prior to eating, drinking, smoking or using toilet facilities.

Precautions for Safe

Handling

Store in a well ventilated area away from heat and sources of ignition, out of

direct sunlight and moisture. Take precautions against static electricity

discharges. Use proper grounding procedures. Store away from incompatible

materials such as materials that support combustion (oxidising materials).

Store in suitable, labelled containers. Inspect periodically for deficiencies

such as damage or leaks. Have appropriate fire extinguishers available in and

near the storage area. For information on the handling of Combustible dusts

and grounding procedure reference should be made to Australian Standard AS/NZS

4745.2004 - 'Code of Practice for Handling Combustible Dusts'.

No biological limit allocated.

Biological Limit

Values

Good ventilation adequate to maintain the concentration below exposure

standards is required. The use of a local exhaust ventilation system (drawing

dusts away from workers breathing zone) is recommended. If the engineering

controls are not sufficient to maintain concentrations of particulates below

the exposure standards, suitable respiratory protection must be worn.

Appropriate

engineering controls

If engineering controls are not effective in controlling airborne exposure

then an approved respirator with a replaceable particulate filter should be

used. Reference should be made to Australian Standards AS/NZS 1715, Selection,

Use and Maintenance of Respiratory Protective Devices; and AS/NZS 1716,

Respiratory Protective Devices, in order to make any necessary changes for

individual circumstances.

Respiratory

Protection

Safety glasses with side shields or chemical goggles should be worn. Final

choice of appropriate eye/face protection will vary according to individual

circumstances. Eye protection devices should conform with Australian/New

Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1337 - Eye Protectors for Industrial Applications.

Eye Protection

Wear gloves of impervious material. Final choice of appropriate gloves will

vary according to individual circumstances i.e. methods of handling or

according to risk assessments undertaken. Reference should be made to AS/NZS

2161.1: Occupational protective gloves - Selection, use and maintenance.

Hand Protection

Suitable protective workwear should be worn when working with this material,

e.g. cotton overalls buttoned at neck and wrist.
