What Tricilon is used for

For treatment of short or long term

inflammatory conditions such as localized

neurodermatitis (begin with an itch),

psoriasis, atopic or seborrheic skin

inflammation, the inflammatory phase of

xerosis (abnormal dryness), itching and


How Tricilon works

Triamcinolone acetonide, a steroid with

anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties.

It is applied on the surface of the skin to

reduce the redness and itchiness caused by

certain skin problems.

Before you use Tricilon

- When you must not use it

- allergic to triamcinolone, other steroids

and ingredients of the product.

- in and around the eyes.

- Before you start to use it

Use with caution in breast feeding mothers

and if there is infection at place of

treatment, and tuberculosis of the skin.

Use in pregnancy only when the potential

benefits justify the risks to the fetus. It

should not be used in large amounts on

How to use Tricilon

- How much to use

Topical to the skin. Apply sparingly in

very thin film. Reducing frequency when

condition improves.

- When to use it

Adult: two to four times daily.

Children: once daily.

- How long to use it

Treatment in children for more than two

weeks should be evaluated carefully by the

medicine at the usual time.

If used too much Tricilon, contact your

Side effects

May cause thinning and drying of the skin.

Reddish purple lines, itchiness,

inflammation around the mouth, burning or

stinging sensation, inflammation of hair

follicles and skin discolouration may occur.

When an occlusive dressing is used, skin

infections and maceration of the skin may

occur. When used on large areas of the body,

for prolonged periods of time, with an

occlusive dressing, and/or in infants and

children, manifestations of Cushing’s

syndrome, high glucose concentration in

blood and in the urine may occur.
