What Privin Enema is used for

For relief of constipation.

How Privin Enema works

Glycerin promotes movement of the

intestines and evacuation of the lower

bowel by its irritant action.

Before you use Privin Enema

- When you must not use it

- allergic to glycerin or other ingredients

of the product.

- do not use this product when you have

nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain

unless directed by physician.

- Before you start to use it

It should be used cautiously if you are

dehydrated.

- Taking other medicines

The medicine is for topical application,

usually will have minimal effect on other

medications. However, please inform the

doctor or pharmacist if taking other

medicines.

How to use Privin Enema

- How much to use

Children: use 10ml enema when

necessary. Adult: Use 20ml enema when

necessary.

- When to use it

Please follow the advice of the doctor or

pharmacist.

- How long to use it

You should check with your doctor or

pharmacist.

- If you forget to use it

If forget to use this medicine, use it as

soon as remember. Then next, use this

medicine at the usual time.

- If you use too much (overdose)

If used too much Privin Enema, contact

your doctor, an emergency department or

a poison center immediately.

While you are using Privin Enema

- Things you must do

Check with the physician if condition

does not improve or if it becomes worse.

Inform doctor of medications taking.

- Things you must not do

Do not stop using medication although

feeling better after a few days, until the

prescribed course is finished.

- Things to be careful of

Treatment should be discontinued if

severe irritation or allergy develops. If

pregnant or become pregnant or breast-

feeding during treatment, should not use

Privin Enema unless as advised by doctor.

Side effects

Side effects are mainly due to dehydrating

effects of glycerin. Glycerin when used

rectally can cause irritation.

You may report any side effects or adverse

drug reactions directly to the National

Centre for Adverse Drug Reaction

Storage and Disposal of Privin Enema

- Storage

Store in cool, dry place, below 30

Protect from light. Keep out of reach of

children.

Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of

medicines no longer required.
