BioGuard Swim Sticks is a slow-release, concentrated chlorine product designed for

economical sanitation in floating and automatic dispensers.

Swim Sticks’ unique shape provides consistent and convenient chlorination, while being

totally soluble.

How to Prepare:

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. This product is a stabilised chlorine compound. Prior to dosing the pool, it is

recommended that:

a. The filter system be backwashed and chemically cleaned.

b. The pool be initially stabilised with BioGuard Stabiliser™ to minimise chlorine losses due

to sunlight.

c. The pool be superchlorinated with BioGuard Burn Out Extreme® or BioGuard Burn Out®

35. Refer to product label for dosage rates.

2. DO NOT drop Swim Sticks directly into the pool. Place Swim Sticks into a floating

dispenser or fill automatic chlorinating device.

3. For Floating Dispensers: Regulate output by varying number of Swim Sticks and/or

regulating water flow through unit.

4. For Automatic Chlorinators: Fill unit with Swim Sticks and regulate chlorine output with

control valve.

5. The rate of dissolving will be affected by water temperature, water flow rate, and the

length of the filter cycle.

The correct level of free chlorine should be maintained for several hours prior to and during

swimming activity. Chlorine levels and pH should be tested daily by use of a reliable test

kit using fresh testing reagents. If pH falls below the required level, add a dry alkali like

BioGuard Balance Pak™ 200. If pH rises above the required level, add hydrochloric acid or

a dry acid like BioGuard Lo’N’Slo™. Dose pool in the evening when pool is not in use.

Stabiliser levels MUST be tested fortnightly by your local pool shop or by use of a reliable

test kit. Once stabiliser levels reach 100 mg/L, DO NOT use this product until stabiliser falls

below that level. INSTEAD, use an unstabilised chlorine product to maintain free chlorine

levels. If stabiliser concentration needs to be reduced, consult your BioGuard Approved

Retailer.

Maintain sparkling water clarity with BioGuard Lite® or Burn Out Extreme®. Refer to

product label for dosage rates.

Storage and

Disposal:

Store under cover in a dry, clean, cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

Rinse empty container in the pool water before disposal. Store and transport in an upright

container. Dispose of empty container with household waste.

Highly reactive oxidising chlorine compound. May produce severe burns. Product will

irritate the eyes, nose, throat and skin. Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and clothing.

Avoid breathing dust. Do not allow the product to come into contact with other chemicals,

especially acids. Do not allow to get damp. Use clean containers for dispensing. Do not

mix with other chemicals. Do not mix with different types of chlorinating chemicals. Mix with

drench with water. In case of spillage, flush with large quantities of water.
