OXIPOR V.H.C.* LOTION SCHEDULING STATUS: S1 PROPRIETARY NAME (and dosage form): OXIPOR V.H.C.* LOTION COMPOSITION: OXIPOR V.H.C.* is a lotion containing per 100 mL Salicylic Acid 1,0 g Benzocaine 2,0 g Alcohol 42,7 mL Coal Tar Solution 48,5 mL PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A.13.9.1 Preparations for psoriasis. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: OXIPOR V.H.C.* has a keratolytic action which helps peel off and dissolve away the scales. It also contains Liquor Carbonis Detergens to help control cell growth and therefore prevent formation of new scales. In addition the local anaesthetic gives prompt relief from itching. INDICATIONS: The symptoms of psoriasis are itching, red or pink skin spots which have a tendency to scale. Psoriasis can cover large areas of the body with scaly crusts or can be confined to scaly spots on the back, elbows, knees or scalp. OXIPOR V.H.C.* - can relieve the itching, redness and help dissolve and clear away the scales and crusts. In addition, regular use of OXIPOR V.H.C.* will help prevent scales from coming back. The beneficial effects of OXIPOR V.H.C.* may often become apparent after only a few days' treatment. The user first notices itching and redness going. Then scales go. Large patches break up into smaller spots and become lighter in colour. Skin should soon appear healthy again. And OXIPOR V.H.C.* leaves no scarring.
