The BD Microtainer? Contact-Activated Lancet is a sterile, single-use, microcollection device with a non-redeployable lancet used to perform fingerstick punctures in adults and children for the purpose of collecting capillary blood. The device is a self-contained unit that remains sterile until the protective tab/tab cap, which covers the lancet, is removed.
