  • Suitability for use in older adult patients Amitriptylini hydrochloridum Avoid using in older persons. Anticholinergic. Sedative. Serotonergic. Low doses can be used for treating neuropathic pain. Significant adverse effects include dry mouth, constipation, urinary difficulties, confusion, cognitive disorder, tiredness, tremor, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, QTc prolongation, serotonin syndrome and risk for falls. Take several interactions into account. Weakens the efficacy of anti-Alzheimer´s drugs. Chlordiazepoxidum Avoid using in older persons. Sedative. A long-acting benzodiazepine which induces tolerance. Significant adverse effects include drug addiction, tiredness, cognitive disorder and risk for falls and traffic accidents. Paradoxically, may increase anxiety, restlessness and aggression.
