General

Instructions:

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

This product should be applied through a calibrated granule applicator which has a

matching female coupling installed in the lid. Remove SmartBox container cap, invert

container and screw onto the applicator box. This action will open the valve on the

container and allow product to flow into the applicator. Remove container.

Follow Safety Directions on this label carefully when handling or mixing the granules as

contact with skin or breathing dust is extremely dangerous.

APPLICATION

For row crops, apply at the time of sowing, directly into the seed furrows and close to the

seeds. The preferred method of application is through granule applicators (insecticide

boxes) calibrated to deliver the required rate. Application with fertilizer or seed can lead to

variable control due to irregular distribution of product through settling out.

For bananas, apply using suitable mechanical granule spreaders.

GROUP 1B INSECTICIDE

For insecticide resistance management COUNTER 150G Granular Soil Insecticide/

Nematicide is a Group 1B Insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant

to COUNTER 150G and other Group 1B insecticides may exist through normal genetic

variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the

insect population if COUNTER 150G or other Group 1B insecticides are used repeatedly.

The effectiveness of COUNTER 150G on resistant individuals could be significantly

reduced.

Since occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Barmac accepts

no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of COUNTER 150G to control

resistant insects.

COUNTER 150G may be subject to specific resistance management strategies. For

further information contact your local supplier, Barmac representative or local agricultural

department agronomist.

Remove unprotected persons from operating area. Take precautions to prevent persons

and wildlife from recovering granules from the soil surface.

Protections:

Remove domestic animals from the operating area.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

Take precautions to prevent birds from recovering granules from the ground. Do NOT

contaminate ponds, streams, ditches, etc as contaminated water is dangerous to humans,

stock, fish, crustacean and wildlife.

Storage and

Disposal:

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated locked room or place,

out of direct sunlight, away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed and fertilisers.

Empty container completely into application equipment. Replace SmartBox container lid

and return to point of purchase. Do NOT damage empty containers. Empty containers and

product should NOT be burnt.

Clean out machinery used for application immediately after use. Return any unused

granules to original container for storage, or bury them at an approved disposal site or in

the treated paddock. Use a small brush and dustpan which should not be used for any

other purpose.

Safety Directions:

SAFETY DIRECTIONS

Very dangerous. Can kill if absorbed by skin contact or inhaled or swallowed. Repeated

minor exposure may have a cumulative poisoning effect. DO NOT touch or rub eyes, nose

or mouth with hand when handling granules. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. DO NOT

inhale dust. When using the product, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist,

washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves, impervious footwear and half-face respirator with

dust cartridge or canister. Avoid re-entry for 48 hours after use in glasshouses or other

confined spaces. If re-entering within this period, wear all protective clothing including

respirator. After use and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face

thoroughly with soap and water. After each day's use, wash gloves, respirator (if rubber

wash with detergent and warm water) and contaminated clothing.

If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly. Remove

from contaminated area. Apply artificial respiration if not breathing. If swallowed, splashed

on skin or in eyes, or inhaled, contact a Poisons Information Centre: Phone Australia

131126, or a doctor at once. Remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.

If swallowed, activated charcoal may be advised. Give atropine if instructed. If poisoning

occurs get to a doctor or hospital quickly.

Mix granules as thoroughly as practicable with non-

granulated or non-prilled superphosphate. The mixing may

be achieved by spreading a layer of fertilizer approx. 7 cm

deep along the box from the bag or auger outlet, then

spreading a layer of granules on top of the fertilizer and

mixing thoroughly with an implement such as a small

pronged cultivator or fork. Further alternate layers should

then be added and mixed until the box is full.
