ANNEX I SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1. NAME OF THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT BAYFO Spray 2.5 mg/g for cats and dogs BOLFO Spray 2.5 mg/g for cats and dogs [NL] 2. QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Per gram spray: ACTIVE SUBSTANCE: Propoxur 2.5 mg. For a full list of excipients, see section 6.1. 3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Dermal spray, solution. Ready-to-use spraying solution for cutaneous use based on 0.25% active substance in an ecofriendly propellant gas mixture of propane and butane in a ratio of about 15:85. 4. CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 TARGET SPECIES Dog and cat. 4.2 INDICATIONS FOR USE, SPECIFYING THE TARGET SPECIES To eliminate an existing flea ( _Ctenocephalides felis_) and/or tick (_Dermacentor variabilis, Ixodes ricinus_ and _ _ _Rhipicephalus sanguineus_) burden from dogs and cats. The product can be used as part of a treatment against flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). 4.3 CONTRAINDICATIONS Do not use on sick or convalescing animals. Do not use on lactating animals. Do not use on animals under 3 months of age. Do not apply onto animals with extensive skin lesions. 4.4 SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES Depending on the hair length, season, and infestation pressure from the environment, retreatment may be necessary after one up to four weeks. Besides the fleas on the dog or cat, also flea eggs, -larves and -pupae can be present in the environment. After a certain time, these can grow out into new adult fleas.
