What Air-X

is used for

Air-X is used to:

Reduce discomfort and pain due to

excessive gas trapped in the stomach and

intestines

Reduce foam formation in the stomach

prior to gastroscopy and endoscopic

examination and prior to radiography to

improve the image of X-ray.

How Air-X

works

Simethicone is an anti-foaming agents that

helps in the merging of gas bubbles and

eliminates as a wind.

Before you use Air-X

When you must not use it

Do not take Air-X if you have:

Previous allergic reaction to the active

ingredient, simethicone or any other

ingredients in Air-X 120 Tablet.

Known or suspected penetration on the wall

of the gastrointestinal tract

Known or suspected blockage of the bowel.

If you are not use whether you should start

taking this medicine, consult your doctor.

Before you start to use it

Tell your doctor if you:

Have diabetic problems because Air-X

contains glucose and sucrose

Taking other medicines

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are

taking or if you have recently taken any other

medicines, including medicines obtained

without a prescription.

Some medicine and Air-X may interfere with

each other. It is important to tell your doctor

or pharmacist if you are taking:

Phenytoin (treatment for epilepsy)

Levothyroxine (treatment for low thyroid

hormone or prevent enlargement of the

thyroid gland)

Pregnancy and lactation

Simethicone is unlikely to harm pregnant

women or breastfeeding mother, as it will not

be absorbed into the body. However, please

inform your doctor if you are pregnant or

breastfeeding and follow as instructed.

How to use Air-X

Always use Air-X exactly according to the

instruction given to you by your doctor or

pharmacists. If you are unsure, check with

your doctor or pharmacist.

How much to use

Adult: 1 tablet after meals and at bedtime, as

needed. The total dosage per day should not

exceed 480mg (4 tablets).

The dosage is adjusted according to the age

and symptoms.

As for those who are preparing for

radiography, gastroscopy and endoscopy, it

is advised to take 80-240mg of simethicone

tablet on the evening before or on the day of

procedure.

When to use it

Take Air-X at the same time each day. The

tablet should be taken orally. Chew the tablet

thoroughly before swallowing them.

How long to use it

Continue to take your medicine as long as

your doctor tells you.

If you forget to use it

Take your dose as soon as you remember and

continue to take it as you would normally.

Do not take double dose to make up for the

dose you missed.

If you use too much (overdose)

There is no likelihood of an overdose

because simethicone is not absorbed into the

body. However, it is advisable that anyone

that have taken too many tablets should refer

this to the doctor or pharmacists.

While you are using it

Things you must do

Always take your Air-X exactly according

to the instructions given to you by your

doctor or pharmacists. If you are unsure,

check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are

taking or if you have recently taken any other

medicines, including medicines obtained

of traditional medicines.

If you are about to be started on any new

medicines, including medicines obtained

without a prescription such as supplements

of traditional medicines.

If you are pregnant or plan to be pregnant,

get advice from your doctor.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately

if you notice any side effects, or if the side

effects get serious or anything else that make

you feel unwell.

Things you must not do

Do not stop taking your medicines without

consulting your doctor.

Do not give this medication to anyone else

even if they have the same condition as you.

Things to be careful of

Those having diabetes should be cautioned

accordingly for the usage of Air-X 120

Tablet, as it contained glucose and sucrose.

Thus, it is advisable for them to take Air-X

SF tablet as the alternative.

Side effects

Simethicone is generally well tolerated. The

side effects are very rarely reported.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice

the following side effects:

Bloating

Heartburn

Constipation

Diarrhea

Tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately

if you notice the side effects gets serious or

anything else that make you feel unwell.

Other side effects not listed above may also

occur in some people.

Storage and Disposal of Air-X

Storage

Keep medicines in a tight container. Store

below 30°C, away from heat and light.

Do not leave your medicine in the car. Keep

all medicines out of the reach of children.

Disposal

The expiry date of Air-X is printed on the

carton and strips. Do not use if after expiry

date.

Medicines should not be disposed of via

wastewater or household waste. Ask you

pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no

longer required. These measurements will

help to protect the environment.

Air-X is a white colored and round biconvex

tablet with mint-flavored.

Active ingredient

Each tablet contains simethicone 120mg.

Inactive ingredients

Aerosil 200, Aerosil R972, Anhydrous

Glucose, Povidone, Sucrose, Caraway Oil,

Fennel Oil, Peppermint Oil, Menthol,

Calcium Stearate.
