GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING

FARMOZ SPIRAL

500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide is a member of the dicarboximide group of fungicides.

For fungicide resistance management, SPIRAL 500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide is a Group B fungicide.

Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to SPIRAL 500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide and other Group B fungicides may exist

through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungi population if these

fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by SPIRAL 500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide and other Group

B fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss.

Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, FARMOZ Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result

from the failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

MIXING

Add SPIRAL 500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide to the required amount of water as detailed in “Critical Comments” and mix thoroughly.

DO NOT mix with alkaline water. Maintain agitation to prevent settling during treatment of seed.

Slowly add 400 mL of the mixture to 100 kg of seed and mix thoroughly to ensure even cover.

Settling of this product may occur after storage for several weeks. Stir, shake, roll or invert container to improve uniformity before opening.

Use the higher rate of application where severe disease is

expected eg. High spore load from previous infected crops and

where other disease control measures such as stubble retention

are not practiced.

100 mL Rate: Dilute with equal parts of product with three parts of

water.

200 mL Rate: Dilute with an equal volume of water. Agitate diluted

mixture thoroughly and apply at a rate of 400 mL of the mixture to

100 kg of seed. Agitate the mixture during the application to prevent

settling.

Mix the seed thoroughly during and immediately after application to

ensure thorough coverage.

This product will reduce the effectiveness of Rhizobium inoculum

on seed.

It will not reduce nodulation where adequate soil populations of

Rhizobium persist from previous lupin crops where spray

inoculation is practiced.

50, 100, 200 mL per

100 kg of seed

only

Use the higher rate of application where severe disease is

expected eg. High spore load from previous infected crops and

where other disease control measures such as stubble retention

are not practised. Where low disease levels are expected and

stubble retention is practised the low rate may be used if seed is to

be sown immediately after treatment. If seed is to be treated after

harvest and then stored until sowing next season, apply a minimum

of 100 mL of SPIRAL 500 Liquid Seed Dressing Fungicide per 100 kg

of seed.

50 mL Rate: Dilute one part of the product with seven and a half

parts water.

100 mL Rate: Dilute one part of the product with three parts of

water.

200 mL Rate: Dilute with an equal volume of water. Agitate diluted

mixture thoroughly and apply at a rate of 400 mL of the mixture per

100 kg of seed. Agitate mixture during application to prevent

setting. Mix seed thoroughly during and immediately after

application to ensure through coverage.

At the high rate of application this product will reduce the

effectiveness of Rhizobium inoculum on seed.

It will not reduce nodulation where adequate soil populations of

Rhizobium persist from previous lupin crops.

Section 11- Toxicological Information

Toxicity: Ina long-term feedingstudy,a slightly increased incidence in liver tumours was reported in mice; in rats,

decreasedweight gainwas observedat 1000 and 2000 ppm.

At these doses, testicular interstitial cell and ovarian stromal hyperplasia, and an increased incidence of testicular

interstitial celltumours, were observed.

In a 2-generation study in rats, infertility and abnormalites ofthe male sexual organswere observed in adults and in

pups at the highest dose level of 750 ppm.

In teratogenicity studies withrats and rabbits no embryotoxic or teratogenic effects were found. No mutagenic

propertieswere found in various test systems (in vivo and invitro). The effects onreproductionand the induction of

testicular tumours in the long-term rat study can beexplained by the effects ofProcymidoneon the endocrine system.

Section 12 - Ecological Information

Ecotoxic effects are dependent on the application of the formulation. Procymidone has a loworal toxicity to birds as

demonstratedin testing withquail and mallard ducks.

Procymidoneis moderatelytoxic to Daphnia magna (waterflea) andOncorhyncus mykiss (rainbow trout), of low

toxicity to Lepomis macrochirus (bluegillsunfish) and Oryzius lapipes (killifish).

The log Pow of Procymidone is 3.30. However, the bioconcentration study in fish showedthat the BCF israther low

(ca. 110 to 130). Thus, no bioconcentration in birds andmammalsis expected. Based ontheendpoints, Procymidone

has a low acute toxicity to birds and mammals.

The acute toxicity to earthworms is low. The results of the acute oraland contacttests on beesalso indicatea low

toxicity of Procymidone. There is a low to moderate toxicity to algae .

Section 13 - Disposal Considerations
