GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Uses

The product

a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide for the control of many important annual grasses

and broadleaf weeds

the crops nominated. The product does not control the important broadleaf

weeds in maize, sweet corn and Concep

treated sorghum but, when mixed with Flowable Gesaprim,

control of many important annual weeds and grasses is obtained without the problem

carryover of

herbicides affecting succeeding crops. The product acts mainly through shoot (coleoptile) absorption. Its

effectiveness depends

soil, where it must be present

Application

Ground Application:

Apply in a minimum of 60

apply by aircraft

Mixing

Fill

spray tank to one quarter full. Then add DUAL GOLD while adding water to make up the final

spray volume. Pour DUAL GOLD into the stream of incoming water. Good agitation

the time DUAL

GOLD

added to the tank will ensure good mixing.

When Tank Mixing:

wettable powder

water dispersible granule formulations should be added to the

tank first, followed by suspension concentrates (flowables), water soluble salts then DUAL GOLD or

other emulsifiable concentrate formulations. Maintain thorough agitation during mixing and application.

Agitate tank mixes vigorously if allowed to stand.

Note:

Tank mix spray solution should NOT

left

standing in the vat overnight.

Compatibility

DUAL GOLD is compatible with Flowable Cotogard®, Flowable Cotoran®, Flowable Gesaga

Flowable Gesaprim , Gesaprim Granules 900 WG, Logran®, Basagran', Spray.Seed® and Roundup'.

WARNING-

Cotton:

DO NOT use when planting into dry soil or soil with marginal moist

e. Under dry

planting conditions heavy rain

flood irrigation soon after planting, together with below average soil

temperatures, can result in crop injury due to the inability of the germinating seedling

metabolise

above normal amounts of the herbicide that may accumulate in the root zone as a result of accelerated

capillary movement. DUAL GOLD should not be used in situations where these conditions are likely to

occur.

WARNING - Brassica Crops:

Crop retardation

y occur where DUAL GOLD is used on soils that

ve a low organic matter content and which contain more than 60% of fine sand and silt.

Irrigation after application should

Resistant Weeds Warning

I

GROUP

HERBICIDE

DUAL GOLD Herbicide is a member of the amide group of herbicides. The product has the herbicides

with diverse sites of action mode of action. For weed resistance management, the product is a Group K

herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant

the product and other Group K herbicides

may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can

eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds

will not be controlled by this product or other Group K herbicides. Since the occurrence

resistant

weeds is difficult

detect prior to use, Syngenta Australia Ply Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that

may result from the failure

this product to control the resistant weeds. Advice as

strategies and

alternative treatments that can be used should be obtained from your local supplier, consultant, local

Department

PRECAUTION

Re-entry Period

DO NOT enter treated areas without protective clothing until spray has dried.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS

NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spray equipment, that may cause spray

drift onto

nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.

DO NOT plant crops other than broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbages, cauliflowers, cotton, maize,

peanuts, soybeans, sunflowers,

swe·et

corn, tobacco or Concep

treated sorghum within 6 months

application of DUAL GOLD.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK

DO NOT graze or cut Sweet Potato leaves for stock food.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

TOXIC TO FISH. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used

containers.

DO NOT apply under meteorological conditions or from spraying equipment which could be expected

cause spray to drift onto adjacent areas, particularly wetlands, waterbodies or watercourses.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight.

Refillable containers

Empty contents fully into application equipment. Close all valves and return

point

Poisons Information Centre on 131 126.

Have the product label or SDS with you when calling or going for

treatment.

Ingestion:

If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately. DO

NOT induce vomiting.

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under

the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove

contact lenses. Immediate medical attention is

required.

Skin contact:

Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

Wash off immediately with plenty of water. If skin

irritation persists, call a doctor. Wash contaminated

clothing before re-use.

Medical Advice:

There is no specific antidote available. Treat symptomatically.

Section 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Small fires

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or

carbon dioxide. DO NOT use a solid water stream as it may

scatter and spread fire.

Large fires

Use alcohol-resistant foam or water spray. DO NOT use a solid

water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Hazards from Combustion

Products:

As the product contains combustible organic components, fire

will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous products

of combustion (see Section 10). Combustion or thermal

decomposition will evolve toxic and irritant vapours. Exposure

to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Special Protective Precautions

and Equipment for Fire Fighters:

Wear protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water

courses. Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water

spray.

Disposal of the absorbed material will depend upon the

extent of the spill

For quantities up to 50 L of product bury in a secure

landfill site

For quantities greater than 50 L seek advice from the

manufacturer (use emergency contact number below)
