Directions for Use

DO NOT use this product for any other purpose other than the treatment of cephalonium

sensitive bacterial infection of the eyes.

Antibiotic sensitivity testing should be carried out before using this product.

Use COOPERS® CEPRAVIN® EYE OINTMENT as directed by your veterinary surgeon.

Wear rubber gloves when administering this treatment.

Dosage and Administration

Cattle: Instil approximately one gram of ointment (half a syringe) into the lower conjunctival

sac, then, with the eyelids closed, gently massage to evenly distribute the ointment. Normally

only a single application is required, but treatment may be repeated at 48 to 72 hours as

necessary. If prophylactic treatment of an unaffected eye is required to prevent cross-infection,

that eye should be treated first to avoid contamination of the syringe nozzle.

Dogs: Apply a liberal quantity into the lower conjunctival sac and gently massage with the

eyelids closed. Treatment may be repeated on a daily basis as necessary. A single 2 gram

syringe will be sufficient for up to 10 applications.

WITHHOLDING PERIOD NIL.

General Instructions

Penicillin and cephalosporins may cause sensitisation (allergy) following injection, inhalation,

ingestion or skin contact. Sensitivity to penicillin may lead to cross sensitivity to cephalosporins

and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.

1. Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitised, or if you have been advised not to

work with such preparations.

2. Handle this product with care to avoid exposure.

3. If you develop symptoms following exposure such as a skin rash you should seek medical

advice and show the Doctor this warning. Swelling of the face, lips or eyes or difficulty

breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.
