HEALTH HAZARDS

In view of both the special design of the containers and the composition of the

fluid within, any health hazard may be regarded as negligible. However,

accidental spillage of the contents could result in eye irritation or general skin

discomfort.

It is most unlikely in view of the dose presentation that any of these products

could be either ingested or inhaled. However, in the unlikely event of this

occurring, general irritation or emesis could occur.

EMERGENCY ACTION

. First Aid for Accidental Contact

(i) EYES - If the solution comes into contact with the eyes, wash with

copious quantities of water for at least 15 minutes.

(ii) SKIN - Following accidental skin contact, wash off with soap and water.

(iii) INGESTION - In the case of ingestion of small quantities, no

immediate action is required, but medical advice should be sought. If large

quantities are accidentally ingested, immediate medical advice should be

sought.

. Accidental Spillage

The product as supplied presents no hazard to personnel who come in contact

with it. In the event of a spillage, the solution should be mopped up with a

suitable disposable material that should be disposed of in accordance with the

waste disposal guidelines described under Section 6.

WASTE DISPOSAL

Disposal of residual fluids may be achieved following the local guidelines for the

disposal of non-toxic waste. However, following use the product could be

contaminated with human fluids especially blood. If such biohazard exists, then

disposal should be for contaminated waste.

. FIRE HAZARD

Hazardous Thermal Decomposition Products

In the event of a fire in the warehousing area, thermal decomposition of the

solution may release water vapour and oxides of carbon.

The plastic container, if allowed to burn will produce toxic fumes of carbon

monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen chloride. Heat build up may

cause the container to rupture and spill its contents.

Extinguishing Media

Any standard extinguishing media such as water spray, dry chemical,

carbon monoxide or foam may be used.

. Special Fire Fighting Procedures

Evacuate all personnel to a safe area. Fire fighters should wear self

contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.
