VIRKNING OG ANVENDELSE

Folsyre tilhører gruppen af B-vitaminer.

Folimet anvendes til behandling af blodmangel, som skyldes mangel på folsyre.

Manglen på folsyre kan enten være kostbetinget eller skyldes forstyrrelser i optagelsen af folsyre fra tarmen,

f.eks. ved visse tarmsygdomme.

Lægen kan givet dig Folimet for noget andet. Følg altid lægens anvisning.

hvis du er overfølsom (allergisk) over for folsyre eller et af de øvrige indholdsstoffer

hvis du har mangel på B

-vitamin, medmindre det er bevist at du har mangel på folsyre.

Vær ekstra forsigtig med at tage Folimet

hvis du har blodmangel, hvor årsagen ikke er kendt

hvis du har mangel på B

-vitamin.

Hvis du er i dialyse, anbefales det, at du hver dag tager 0,5 til 1 mg folsyre.

Brug af anden medicin

Fortæl det altid til lægen eller på apoteket, hvis du bruger anden medicin eller har brugt det for nylig. Dette

gælder også medicin, som ikke er købt på recept, medicin købt i udlandet, naturlægemidler, stærke vitaminer

og mineraler samt kosttilskud.

Tal med din læge, hvis du tager medicin mod

leddegigt og betændelse i tyktarmen (salazosulfapyridin)

epilepsi. De fleste midler mod epilepsi kan nedsætte indholdet af folsyre i blodet, specielt hos børn.

Folsyre kan nedsætte virkningen af phenytoin mod epilepsi

forhøjet kolesterolindhold i blodet (colestyramin/colestipol)

infektion (chloramphenicol, sulfonamider, trimethoprim)

gigt og visse kræftformer (methotrexat).

Brug af Folimet sammen med mad og drikke

Du kan tage Folimet i forbindelse med et måltid, men det er ikke nødvendigt.

Du skal tage folimet med et glas vand.

Graviditet og amning

Spørg din læge eller apoteket til råds, før du tager nogen form for medicin.

Graviditet

Folimet kan anvendes til gravide.

Amning

Folimet kan anvendes i ammeperioden. Folimet udskilles i modermælken, men der foreligger ingen

oplysninger om bivirkninger hos det ammede barn. Tal med lægen, hvis du har spørgsmål.

Trafik- og arbejdssikkerhed

Folimet påvirker ikke arbejdssikkerheden og evnen til at færdes sikkert i trafikken.

SÅDAN SKAL DU TAGE FOLIMET

Tag altid Folimet nøjagtigt efter lægens anvisning. Er du i tvivl, så spørg lægen eller apoteket.

Den sædvanlige dosis er mellem 1 og 4 tabletter (5 - 20 mg) dagligt.

Hvis du har taget for mange Folimet tabletter

Kontakt lægen, skadestuen eller apoteket, hvis du har taget mere Folimet, end der står her, eller mere end

lægen har foreskrevet, og du af den grund føler dig utilpas.

Tag emballagen med.

Symptomer på en overdosis i forbindelse med langtidsbehandling kan være appetitløshed, kvalme, luft i

maven, bitter/grim smag i munden, ændret søvnmønster, koncentrationsbesvær, irritabilitet, uro og

rastløshed, depression, overstadighed, forvirring eller påvirket dømmekraft.

Du må ikke tage en dobbeltdosis som erstatning for den glemte dosis.

Spørg lægen eller apoteket, hvis der er noget, du er i tvivl om.

BIVIRKNINGER

Folimet kan som al anden medicin give bivirkninger, men ikke alle får bivirkninger.

Alvorlige bivirkninger

Sjældne bivirkninger

(forekommer hos mellem 1 og 10 ud af 10.000 behandlede):

alvorlige allergiske reaktioner (som f.eks. hududslæt, hævelse af ansigt, tunge og svælg,

vejrtrækningsbesvær, shock). Kan være livsfarligt. Ring 112.

OPBEVARING

Opbevares utilgængeligt for børn.

Du kan opbevare Folimet ved almindelig temperatur.

Brug ikke Folimet efter den udløbsdato, der står på pakningen. Udløbsdatoen (EXP) er den sidste dag i den

nævnte måned.

Aflever altid medicinrester på apoteket. Af hensyn til miljøet må du ikke smide medicinrester i afløbet,

toilettet eller skraldespanden.
