1. VIRKNING OG ANVENDELSE

Finacea Gel indeholder det aktive stof azelainsyre. Det tilhører den gruppe af midler mod

akne, der påføres på huden. Finacea Gel anvendes til lindring af mild til moderat

papulopustuløs akne i ansigtet. Finacea Gel anvendes også til behandling af papulopustuløs

rosacea. Papulopustuløs akne og rosacea medfører betændte og pusholdige bumser.

Lægen kan have givet dig Finacea Gel for noget andet. Følg altid lægens anvisning.

2. DET SKAL DU VIDE, FØR DU BEGYNDER AT BRUGE FINACEA GEL

Brug ikke Finacea Gel

hvis du er overfølsom over for azelainsyre eller over for et eller flere af hjælpestofferne

(se pkt. 6)..

Advarsler og forsigtighedsregler

Kontakt lægen eller apoteket, før du bruger Finacea Gel.

Finacea Gel er kun til udvortes brug. Undgå kontakt med øjne, mund eller slimhinder. Hvis

præparatet alligevel skulle komme i kontakt med øjne, mund eller slimhinder, skal der straks

skylles grundigt med rigelige mængder vand. Hvis du stadig har øjenirritation, skal du

henvende dig til lægen. Du skal vaske hænder efter hver behandling med Finacea Gel.

Når Finacea Gel anvendes til behandling af papulopustulær rosacea anbefales det at undlade

at anvende rensemidler, tinkturer og skintonic, slibemidler og peeling, der indeholder alkohol.

Der er i sjældne tilfælde set forværring i astmasymptomerne hos nogle astmapatienter, der er

blevet behandlet med azelainsyre.

Børn og teenagere

Sikkerhed og virkning ved behandling af akne er undersøgt hos 12-18 årige unge (se afsnit 3.

Sådan skal du bruge Finacea Gel). Finacea Gel anbefales ikke til behandling af akne hos børn

under 12 år på grund af manglende oplysninger om sikkerhed og virkning.

Brug af anden medicin sammen med Finacea Gel

Der er ikke gennemført studier omkring Finaceas Gel indflydelse på andre lægemidler og

andre lægemidlers indflydelse på Finacea Gel. Du må ikke anvende anden medicin eller

anden behandling i ansigtet, samtidig med at du anvender Finacea Gel.

Fortæl altid lægen eller på apoteket, hvis du bruger anden medicin eller har gjort det for nylig.

Dette gælder også medicin, som ikke er købt på recept, f.eks. naturlægemidlerog vitaminerog

mineraler.

Graviditet og amning

Spørg din læge eller dit apotek til råds, før du tager nogen form for medicin.

Graviditet

Der er begrænset erfaring omkring anvendelsen af azelainsyre under graviditet. Hvis du er

gravid eller ammer, vil din læge afgøre, om du kan anvende Finacea Gel.

Amning

Børn må ikke komme i kontakt med behandlet hud eller bryst.

Trafik- og arbejdssikkerhed

Finacea Gel påvirker ikke arbejdssikkerheden eller evnen til at færdes sikkert i trafikken.

Finacea Gel indeholder benzoesyre

og propylenglykol

Benzoesyre har en lettere irriterende virkning på hud, øjne og slimhinder.

Propylenglykol kan forårsage hudirritation.

3. SÅDAN SKAL DU BRUGE FINACEA GEL

Brug altid Finacea Gel nøjagtigt efter lægens anvisning. Er du i tvivl, så spørg lægen eller på

apoteket.

Finacea Gel er kun til udvortes brug (smøres på huden).

Anvendelsesmåde

Før du påfører Finacea Gel, skal du omhyggeligt rengøre huden med vand og lad den tørre

helt. Du kan anvende et mildt hudrensemiddel. Dækkende forbinding eller omslag må ikke

anvendes, og det er vigtigt at vaske hænder, hver gang du har anvendt gelen.

Den sædvanlige dosis er:

Påfør Finacea Gel på de angrebne hudområder to gange om dagen (morgen og aften) og gnid

den blidt ind i huden. Ca. 2,5 cm, svarende til 0,5 g gel, er tilstrækkeligt til hele ansigtet).

For at opnå en optimal virkning af behandlingen er det vigtigt, at du fortsætter med at

anvende Finacea Gel regelmæssigt i hele behandlingsperioden.

I tilfælde af hudirritation (se afsnit 4. ”Bivirkninger”), kan du anvende Finacea Gel i en

mindre mængde eller nøjes med at bruge gelen én gang dagligt, indtil irritationen holder op.

Du kan evt. afbryde behandlingen midlertidigt i nogle få dage.

Brug til børn og teenagere

Det er ikke nødvendigt at justere dosis til børn fra 12-18 år, der behandles for akne.

Varighed af behandlingen

Det varierer fra person til person, hvor lang tid det er nødvendigt at bruge Finacea Gel, og det

afhænger af hudlidelsens sværhedsgrad.

Din læge vil fortælle dig, hvor længe, du skal anvende Finacea Gel.

Akne: Du kan anvende Finacea Gel over en periode på flere måneder afhængigt af den effekt,

du har af behandlingen. Normalt ses en bedring efter 4 ugers behandling. Hvis der ikke ses en

bedring efter én måneds behandling, eller hvis aknen bliver værre, skal behandlingen med

Finacea Gel afbrydes, og du skal kontakte din læge.

Rosacea: Du kan anvende Finacea Gel over en periode på flere måneder afhængigt af den

effekt, du har af behandlingen. Normalt ses en bedring 4 uger efter behandlingens start. Hvis

der ikke er nogen bedring efter to måneder, eller hvis rosaceaen bliver værre, skal du ophøre

med at anvende Finacea Gel og kontakte din læge.

Hvis du har brugt for meget Finacea Gel

Selv om du ved en fejl har anvendt mere Finacea Gel end du burde, er en skadelig virkning

(forgiftning) usandsynlig.

Fortsæt behandlingen som fastsat af lægen, og spørg lægen til råds, hvis du er i tvivl.

Hvis du har glemt at bruge Finacea Gel

Du må ikke anvende dobbeltdosis som erstatning for den glemte dosis. Fortsæt som fastsat af

din læge.

Hvis du holder op med at bruge Finacea Gel

Kontakt lægen, hvis du ønsker at holde pause eller stoppe behandlingen med Finacea Gel.

Hvis du holder op med at bruge Finacea Gel, kan din hudlidelse blive værre. Spørg lægen til

råds, før du holder op med at bruge Finacea Gel.

4. BIVIRKNINGER

Finacea Gel kan som al anden medicin give bivirkninger, men ikke alle får bivirkninger.

Der kan forekomme hudirritationer (fx brændende fornemmelse og kløe). I de fleste tilfælde

er irritationssymptomerne milde til moderate og hyppigheden falder i løbet af behandlingen.

De hyppigste bivirkninger er kløe (pruritus), brændende fornemmelse og smerte på

påføringsstedet.

Følgende bivirkninger kan forekomme under behandlingen med Finacea Gel. De er kun set på

huden i påføringsområdet:

Ved afprøvning på unge patienter svarede den samlede forekomst af bivirkninger med

Finacea Gel til forekomsten hos hele patientgruppen.

5. OPBEVARING

Opbevar dette lægemiddel utilgængeligt for børn.

Brug ikke dette lægemiddel efter den udløbsdato (EXP), der står på pakningen. Udløbsdatoen

er den sidste dag i den nævnte måned.

Finacea Gel kræver ingen særlige forholdsregler vedrørende opbevaringen.

Spørg på apoteket, hvordan du skal bortskaffe medicinrester. Af hensyn til miljøet må du ikke

smide medicinrester i afløbet, toilettet eller skraldespanden.

Aktivt stof: Azelainsyre (1 g Finacea indeholder 150 mg azelainsyre)

Øvrige indholdsstoffer: Lecithin, triglycerider (mellemkædet), polysorbat 80, propylenglykol,

carbomer 980, natriumhydroxid, dinatriumedetat, benzoesyre (E210) og renset vand.

Benzoesyre

har en lettere irriterende virkning på hud, øjne og slimhinder.

Propylenglykol

kan forårsage hudirritation.
